As an Associate Recruiter, you will be:

NYC & Company is the official destination marketing organization for the City of New York, dedicated to maximizing travel and tourism opportunities throughout the five boroughs, building economic prosperity and spreading the positive image of New York City worldwide.

The Research & Analysis Department manages a comprehensive research and intelligence unit for the City’s travel and tourism industry. It functions as the office of record for vital statistics on New York City’s travel sector. The Research and Analysis team compiles reports that measure the economic impact of NYC’s tourism industry, profile visitors, and track visitor volume from dozens of different origin markets and niche segments. Separate reports pinpoint citywide hotel development and performance. The department also conducts extensive proprietary market research studies.

The Department disseminates research-based marketing, educational and analytic industry information to NYC & Company members, elected officials, city and state offices, and key stakeholders. Research supports the tourism, convention sales, communications, marketing promotions and initiatives, and membership. Research & Analysis delivers ongoing economic, market and evaluation information to support strategic and tactical planning.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Research Coordinator occupies a varied and challenging position responsible for syndicated data analysis and reporting, monitoring trends in visitor behavior, and creating and analyzing market surveys. The tasks are quite wide-ranging and the skill sets involved different, but the functions are linked to the goal of communicating to NYC & Company’s many internal and external audiences the economic benefits and market opportunities of the city’s business and leisure travel economy. The position offers opportunities for collaboration, creative development of projects and presentation of projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Coordinate day to day implementation of research based projects
o Analyze syndicated annual domestic and international visitor surveys
o Produce data driven graphics, summary reports, fact sheets and annual visitor profile reports.
o Develop and analyze proprietary market research surveys
o Track market trends and influences
o Conduct database and online research to quantify and identify trends in travel and tourism
o Create and maintain research databases and related reports
o Respond to research inquiries

QUALIFICATIONS:
o Excellent quantitative and analytic skills
o Familiarity with analyzing cross-tabulated and primary data
o Proven ability to turn data and analysis into easily understood visual and verbal written communication tools from fact sheets and detailed reports to testimony and policy statements
o Experience with digital analytic tools a plus
o Proficiency in Excel analytic tools as well as MS Word and PowerPoint
o Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
o BA/BS with at least 1 year comparable professional experience preferably in Tourism and Hospitality, and/or market and industry research.
